Dr Eamon Ryan BVSc, BVETbio, MANZCVs
Veterinarian

Eamon grew up in Gundaroo but since graduating from Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga he has spent time working in Melbourne, England, Jersey and Hong Kong before returning back to Gundaroo. Growing up on a farm, Eamon was always been around animals.

Eamon has completed post graduate qualifications such as his Memberships in small animal surgery and has almost completed his Gradate Certificate in small animal orthopedics.

Eamon is aware that not everyone can’t afford a specialist referral so is passionate to provide a quality alternative for a range of complex surgeries such as fracture repairs, abdominal surgery, TPLOs, Spinal surgeries, and CT imaging.

Eamon’s main hobbies outside of work are cycling and running, having competed in the world championship for duathlon. However, since having children in 2021 and 2023, his rare time off is spent with his family and walking his two Labradors Betty and Peggy.

Dr Emma Tollis BVSc, BVETbio
Veterinarian

Emma grew up in a small village south of Canberra before moving to Sydney for 6 years to complete her Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney. She has since moved back home and joined both our Belconnen and Gundaroo practices in August of 2023.

Emma is the proud owner of three domestic shorthair cats; Pippin, Perdita and Edwin. She also lives with four other cats, three dogs, a rabbit, a guinea pig and eight chickens - quite the menagerie!

While she enjoys working with animals of all shapes and sizes, Emma has a special interest in both sheep and cats and hopes to pursue future study in these areas. She is also passionate about providing quality end-of-life care for our aging or palliative patients.

When she isn’t at work Emma spends her time baking, reading, playing video games, or taking care of her many younger siblings.

Dr Johanna

 Dr Johanna BVSc
Veterinarian

Dr Johanna grew up on a sheep property along the Yass River, where caring for animals was simply part of daily life. From a young age, she was hands-on with both pets and livestock, and that early bond with animals naturally led her toward a career in veterinary medicine. After time away for study and the start of her career, she's thrilled to be back in her hometown, doing what she loves.

Johanna holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology/Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Charles Sturt University. She’s passionate about serving the Yass Valley community and loves the variety of animals she gets to treat, alongside a supportive and tight-knit team.

Outside of the clinic, Johanna enjoys helping on the family farm, hiking, and reading. In 2024, she even completed the Pacific Crest Trail in the USA—a massive achievement that tested her endurance and spirit. At home, she has Ellie, her beautiful Border Collie x Coolie, and on the family farm, a lively group of working Kelpies and Tilly the Swedish Vallhund.

We're lucky to have Johanna on the team—she brings experience, compassion, and a love for both animals and the Yass community.

Dr Isabelle

Dr Isabelle Spooner BVB, DVM
Veterinarian

Isabelle was born and raised in Canberra, growing up in the Woden Valley area. She spent six years in Sydney completing her Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney—where she and Emma were classmates and often teamed up for practicals and assignments.

After finishing her studies, Isabelle returned to Canberra and worked at Weston Creek from 2022 until early 2025. She now brings her experience and passion to our team!

At home, Isabelle has two beloved dogs: Alex, a Jack Russell mix, and Jack, a Bichon Frise mix. They’re both older gents with a few health issues but still love a good cuddle.

Her professional interests lean more toward internal medicine than surgery, and she's especially eager to expand her skills in ultrasound.

Outside of work, Isabelle enjoys walks, model building, writing, painting, and playing games—whether it's tabletop or video games.

We're thrilled to have Isabelle on board!
